a heart warming contemporary fairy tale
This Book Left Me Wanting For MORE!
Cinderella does the White House in a great modern romanceAt only thirty-nine, Stephen Marshall has been President of the United States for about a year. Already his advisors and his beloved Aunt Doris inform him that if he wants to be reelected he, being a bachelor, needs a woman by his side. To insure that no sex scandal impacts him, Stephen lives the life of a cold showering monk.
Ginny Baxter is Jane Q. Public citizen, who is on the tour of the White House, when her blood pressure medicine sends her looking for a bathroom. Somehow she clears the entire house without being stopped, ultimately running into the Secret Service and the President. Quick thinking Stephen selects Ginny as his political rescuer and invites her to attend a reception. She wonders if she is Cinderella or just the butt of a bad practical joke. The mother of a teenager and the country's most eligible bachelor begin to see each other and fall in love with one another. However, he is political suave and she is suburban baseball mom,
leaving no doubt that midnight will strike early for this unusual couple.
GOLDEN MAN is a contemporary American fairy tale that succeeds due to the immense talent of Evelyn Rogers. The story line, especially the night of the "disaster", seems so real because of the awesome skills of the writer. The lead players are charming, but it is the political hacks, sycophants, and friends of the president that turns Cinderella goes DC into a deserved crown of glory for Ms. Rogers.

Exciting and a wonderful read!
EXCELLENT!
An Excellent book!

A Book To Help You Get Past YourselfThis is a book to read when you think that its time somebody got tough with you(meaning YOURSELF).If you're there now at that point, buy this book..you won't regret it.
it's the only way to live in the path of light
The most important book I've readHe never 'wrote' any of his books, they are transcribed from his taped lectures he gave many, many years ago in France.

Loved the book!
Truly a historic treasure.
Great recipes, heartwarming stories on Grandmothers.

A great selection of children's literature in one bookThis treasury consists of complete stories as well as excerpts from classic books such as Winnie the Pooh, the Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland. It has variety of genres -- Aesops fables, Grimm's fairy tales, stories from the Arabian nights, as well as more contemporary work. One of my favorites, Turn on the Night, is a great story to help soothe children who are scared of the dark.
Additionally, the book is filled with wonderful illustrations. Each story has its own style, so there is something new and interesting on each page (almost).
I highly recommend this book for good readers in the early elementary grades and for all middle grade elementary readers. I enjoyed it much longer as a child, but it is sure to be appreciated by those grades.
A Wonderful Introduction to Other Children's Classics!
Awesome!

"Aint the beer cold..."sports analyst, Ted Patterson, was inside in the midst of a book signing for the above title. This was a treat! Mr. Patterson is an extremely knowledgeable gentleman who has been a fixture in the Baltimore sports scene for some time. I HAD TO HAVE THE BOOK!
The book, folks, is all that and more. If you grew up listening to O's games described to you by the incomparable Chuck Thompson - you will understand what I mean. Not only does the book provide history, but it also delves into the broadcaster's life. The cd's which accompanied the book made this a priceless momento. Kudos, Mr. Patterson!
The Golden Voices of BaseballAs to the book and the CDs, as I look back to the past as to how the thesis came about (50 tapes of broadcasters), and the number of years that passed until the book was finally published in 2002, this alone speaks volumes as to how valuable these tapes have become and now they are a reality for all to share. The book is very well written and most informative, with loads of great pictures and memories for all sports fans to share. I agree with Curt Gowdy, who has written the introduction, when he says that so many sportscasters are gone now, but their memory shall live on forever through this book.
Photographs, history, nostalgia, and commentary

Readable--Dr. Otto Ravenholt, Former Chief Health Officer, Clark County Health District, Las Vegas, Nevada
Just what the doctor ordered!
Excerpts from Published ReviewsThe Las Vegas Review-Journal's 6/7/00 article by Ben Rogers captures what this book is all about; excerpts from his article follow. "It was an era predating Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs and malpractice insurance, a time when doctors practiced the art of healing--a cheaper, simpler and more personal version of modern medicine....The 'Golden Age' of medicine ran from about 1940 to 1990 and was characterized by a more personal approach to patients. 'If you ask people today about their biggest problems with HMOs, they say that they never get enough time with their doctor,' said Blachley, a Nevada medical history enthusiast and author of Good Medicine. 'The majority of doctors practicing today are overburdened by paperwork and restricted reimbursement amounts, all brought about by the powerful medical insurance industry. Doctors used to have time to sit down and become friends with their patients.' Blachley decided against a traditional oral history approach to the book--which she said can sometimes turn aimless--and tried instead to tell a focused tale. "I...made it more of a story, a narrative of their lives,' she said.
